Much needed win for Farse

Farsenal have put a turbulant week behind them with a pressure-relieving 6-4 win over the Beavers in a heated clash on Monday night.
Farsenal was missing its Castlemaine connection in Tim Richardson (toe) and Ben Walter (ankle), but started well without the pair despite conceding the opening goal.
David Janissen, Sam Kelly and Sean Murdoch were all on target as the Red's transition of the football was the best it had been in 2007.
A late penalty kick kept the Beavers in with a chance at half time, trailing only by a goal, 3-2.

But the Farse were desperate to hold onto their slender lead at it was doubled when Murdoch put Kelly throw for an easy tap in early in the second half.
Two more goals followed to Murdoch as he completed his hattrick to give the Farse the ascendency.
But a late tackle from a dirty Beaver on Janissen breathed life back into the contest as him and Janissen recieved cautions from referee James, Donga's for his reaction to the tackle.
The Farse were forced to withstand a barrage of attacking forays from the Beavers in the final eight minutes but fort Farse held firm to win just its thrid game for the year.

Much needed break for Farse

Farsenal will use the Easter break to freshen up after its unexpected winless start to the 2007 campaign.
The new look Red’s sit in bottom place in the Monday night league with just two points to show for its first month of action.
Captain Sam Kelly believes his unsettled side just needs game time together.
"I know I’ve said it a hundred times, but we are still getting used to each other," he said prior to the Easter break.
"You take the Kevin Jackson and Andrew Lorimer out of any team and they are going to struggle," he said of the sides two most experienced defenders.
"We haven’t got our back line sorted out yet and we bled goals again last week."
Farsenal was embarrased in the first half last week as it conceded a staggering eight goals against the Swillers. But a tighter second half allowed it to leave with a respectable 9-6 scoreline.
There were better signs for the Red’s in the second half as it outscored its physical opponents 3-1.
Farsenal were lead by Tim Richardson’s first half hattrick, while Andrew Tucker bobbed up with two goals of his own in the second half, his hattrick only denied by the upright.
But goals have still been difficult to find for the usually free scoring Farse, who are yet to decide on its best combination up front.
Sam Kelly has been starved of opportunites, and has just the one goal from four games, while the Red’s desperately need the class of Richardson and David Janissen to hold up the defensive end.
Sean Murdoch, who has played up front and in defence, was unable to play on the field on Monday and the Farse missed his versatility. He sat in goals for the first half but retired to the bench for the second half as Justin Rea took up his usual spot between the sticks.
Farsenal will look for points when the league recommneces on the 16th of April.
They should be almost at full strength, despite the fact the game is in during the Universites two week lecture break. Tucker is thought to be the only player in doubt, while Murdoch should have recovered from his hamstring troubles.

Tough start for Farse

Farsenal captain Sam Kelly has been forced to defend his new look team after it has earnt just a point from its opening two games of the 2007 season.

After suffering a humiliating 11-5 drubbing at the hands of Italia (mostly Dodgers), the Farse followed up with a disappointing display against cellar dwellers Untitled United, leaving red faced after conceding the equaliser (5-5) with just 12 sec remaining on the clock.

A new goal keeper and reshuffled defence has given the Farse a huge challenge as they look for their first win of the new year against the Nerrina Boyz.

Kelly said he was surprised by his teams lack of organisation, but insisted it would improve.

"We have had some problems at the back" he admitted.

"Too many guys are committing themselves forward and its pretty obvious that we are being caught on the counter. That's pretty much how we conceded all our goals against Italia."

"Last week was a bit better, but it was still disappointing to see too many guys pushing forward when we only needed to hold out for another minute and we would have got the points."

Goals have also been hard to come by for the Reds, who have only scored 10 in two games, with last seasons leading scorer Kelly yet to register. Goals have come in patches, but Farsenal's finishing was atrocious last week with marksman Tim Richardson missing with a foot injury.

A two man bench has caused headaches during the week for Kelly, who must juggle his restless stars who want to play the full 40 minutes.

"It's kind of hard to keep everyone happy because we all want to play the full match," he said.

Kelly also hinted that he had learned something from a first year subject- Sports Management.

"I remember them talking about the four stages of creating a team- forming, storming, norming and performing. Last year, Farsenal was well and truly in the performing stage. But throw a couple of new guys in and your pretty much back to the start. We are probably up to the norming stage now and hopefully we will be performing again very soon!"

Farse suffer setback

Farsenal's slim title hopes took a huge hit on Monday night with boss Raelene Janes rejecting the clubs push for a place in the Wednesday night league.
Farsenal are now resigned to joining a waiting list of teams for the Wednesday night competition.
But in better news for the embattled club, Janes has offered Farsenal a place in the less prestigious Monday night league. However, they are not permitted to join the competition until March 19.
It is a bitter pill to swallow for Farsenal who claim they were promised a place in the Wednesday night comp at the end of 2006.
"They indicated to us after the grand final that we would always be welcomed back," a dejected Sam Kelly said on Tuesday.
"It was a case of 'just let us know when your ready to play and we'll slot you straight in'."
"We have been very loyal to the competition over the past two years and this is really a kick in the guts."
But Farsenal will attempt to make up ground and with its star studded squad, it should be able to make a quick climb up the table.
"It would be good if we got a cheap fours competition group," Kelly joked.

Farse fill squad

A glamourous ceremony at its Morgan St HQ has been the stage for Farsenal to announce its latest signings for the 2007 BCF&F league season.
Captain Sam Kelly and CEO Kevin Jackson, via satelite from the USA, were on hand to unveil midfielder Andrew Tucker and goalkeeper Justin Rea as the clubs newest recruits. The announcements come just days before Farsenal's season opener next Wednesday.
Kelly said the signings were great news for the club.
"As a club, we are continuing to look forward and I think these two guys are only going to help take us in that direction," he said.
It has taken the Reds a while, but they have finally landed the signature of Tucker, a player who has been in the sights of Farsenal scouts since early 2006.
And Tucker admitted he couldn't wait for the season to start.
"I've barracked for Arsenal my whole life, and although I couldn't quite play for them, I guess playing for Farsenal is the next best thing," he said.
Tucker even felt ready to take on Kelly in the fashion stakes, claiming he has already bought white futsal shoes.
"He better be able to play," Kelly joked.
But on a serious note, Kelly was pleased the club had been able to secure a replacement for Brad Jackson, although Rea had only been signed on a part time contract.
"Justin won't be full time, unfortunately", he said. "He has indicated to us that he may be unavailable some nights, but sometimes you have to work around problems like that if you want to bring quality players to the club."
However, many are criticising Farsenal's methods of luring the former Sebastopol defender to the club on a free transfer.
Farsenal are believed to have signed Rea while he was intoxicated at an O week function.
The club denies the claims.

In other news, Farsenal defender Sean Murdoch has sent a scare through the Red's camp just days out from the season opener, complaining of an injured ankle after Wednesday nights pub crawl.
Murdoch, who looms as a key player in Farsenal's defence this year, has a history of ankle injuries. But Farsenal's club doctor has indicated that the "slight sprain" had not swolen up as much as expected and Murdoch should play in the season opener.
Farsenal denies the injury was a result of alcohol.

Hey guys, I have spent the last half an hour or so browsing through your blogs. They are all very amusing, I must say. I thought it might be an idea for me to perhaps keep you up to date with the Farse through this medium.

FARSE RETAIN JANISSEN
Farsenal's title hopes recieved a boost today with the club announcing it had secured the services of star David Janissen for the 2007 season. Janissen is believed to have made a verbal committment to captain Sam Kelly, with a deal likely to be completed in the coming days. It is a coup for the Farse with Janissen roumered to be leaving the club late last season.

However, Farsenal are still waiting on an answer from Andrew Tucker, who was offered a lucrative contract last week. The club is yet to approach a goalkeeper, but Kelly assured supporters that Farsenal were looking to seal a deal as early as next week. Justin Rea is believed to be the Red's prefered choice.

And in other news, Farsenal utility Tim Richardson has taken club matters into his own hands. Reportedly unhappy with both Farsenal's traditional Arsenal shirt, and the clubs "away" Manchester City strip, Richardson is believed to be looking into the prospect of the club wearing Inter Milan shirts for the 2007 season. A text message has been leaked to the media from Richardson to Kelly asking for the location of "Only Sport", Farsenal's official apparel supplier.
There has been no announcment from the club and it denies looking into a third strip. Farsenal is the only team in the BCF&F league with a clash strip.

Hope that keeps you guys up to speed with the mighty Farse. Im looking forward to writing the reports so look out for them. I think I will go and see Raelene on Monday night and tell her we want to start on the 28th of February.

I might also try and get some pics of the new Farsenal HQ. 9 Morgan St Sebas. Its quite a nice place and we have all moved in. Only thing is the TV isn't working so we will have to get that fixed up before we start living there when O week starts next week.

Hope all is well, and I hope to hear from you all soon!

Sam
